I just thought it might be an interesting topic on the creepiest day of the year. I wouldn't classify myself as having a phobia of Halloween; but I'll be honest, it ain't my favorite. There are lots of great things about Halloween. I like the costumes, the pumpkins, and hey..who ever complained about free candy?
But the one thing I cannot stand and refuse to deal with on Halloween is a haunted house. Don't get me wrong, I've been to a good many of them, and the times I did I usually ended up laughing at myself and having a great time, but as I'm getting older I'm learning my nerves can't handle as much as they used to. So now at the mention of anything involving willingly forcing myself to be scared, I get all sweaty palmed and shaky.
It's the scary music that is almost always the Michael Myers theme song, the dude at the end of the trail who ALWAYS has a chainsaw, and the random ghoul who just happens to be standing behind you when you can finally see after coming out of a pitch black room. Not my cup of tea.
But I think what absolutely makes it impossible for me to enjoy a haunted house is not trusting the creatures behind those masks.
I mean, you're walking through a place riddled with blood, body parts, and people you don't know yielding scary looking death tools. Can you really trust these people? How hard would it be for the real Michael Myers to take out an actor and replace him? Do you really know that one of those people isn't going to kill you? How would you know it was just an act when that dude in front of you gets a chainsaw to the leg?
Food for thought my friends...
Just know you won't find me out there amongst the flocks of thrill seekers. Have fun though, kids! LOL ok so maybe I have just a touch of samanamamama-whatever it is they call it.
Really though, Halloween is a great way to kick off the holiday season. I'm really excited to dress up my baby and let her do some trick or treating. I know she will love it! I hope everyone has a wonderfully creepy day!
FYI: I did a little statistic Halloween search and found out 90% of parents admit to sneaking candy from their little monsters' trick or treat bag...happy snacking you guys!!
