There's just nothing like a corny, 80's movie to me. They are probably my most favorite movies to watch. Christian Grey who?? I would take poofy hair and sweat covered action heroes over the smut they make now any day of the week.
The 80's really weren't THAT long ago but the difference in lifestyle (as portrayed in the movies, IDK I wasn't born until 1990) is profound. Now it may not have been the best time in life, bad things happened in the 80's just like they do now, but there is no doubt that the stuff that flies now in movies and tv wouldn't have cut it back then.
I guess that's what I love about watching older (I know, I can almost hear the eye roll, some of you are like jeez, the 80s are old now?) movies (not just from the 80's) but they just happen to be my favorite...it's the lack of over the top special effects and the presence of proper clothing that make them great.
Oh, to go back to the days of Ferris Bueller taking a day off...of Arnold kicking Predator's alien behind...of Patrick Swayze pulling Baby out of her corner.
Yep, those were the good ole days.
I guess those days are well and gone now; it's just nice every now and then to take a trip back to when life was just a tad simpler, maybe just a little bit purer. When people were less bold and morals were still possible to find.
I'm not a big fan of looking back on the past; there's nothing you can do to change it after all. But I think reflecting back is important.
You can bet your bottom dollar Camp will know who E.T. and Han Solo are. I'm leaving you guys a link to the 80's most popular movies...here's to hairspray, The Breakfast Club, and Indiana Jones!
